JAMMU, MAY 15: University of Jammu witnessed a one-day seminar on “Advancing Technologies for Viksit Bharat” organised by Science Club Utsaah in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Science Technology and Innovation Council under the Department of Science and Technology, UT of J&K.
The seminar focused on emerging technologies in the fields of Agritechnology and Biotechnology and aimed to provide students, scholars, faculty members and staff with insights into innovations driving India’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. The programme also highlighted the importance of channelising youth energy towards knowledge-based development and away from drugs and addiction.
Experts from different institutions, including AI specialists from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, grassroots innovators and biotechnology experts from the University of Jammu, spoke on the practical applications of advanced technologies in nation-building.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Susheel Kumar, shared examples of global technological advancements and inspired participants to contribute towards scientific innovation and development.
Assistant Director JKSTIC Shruti Khanna attended the event as the special guest, while Guest of Honour Prof. Sanjay Khajuria emphasized the importance of promoting grassroots innovations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairperson Utsaah and Dean Faculty of Science Prof. Meena Sharma extended support for the event and encouraged scientific learning among students.
Among the key speakers, Dr. Akash Sharma delivered a seminar on “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Agriculture and Horticulture Systems,” while Dr. Ankit Mahajan spoke on biotechnology, genetic diseases and technological advancements in healthcare.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Chinmoyee Maharana, who also presented the vote of thanks and appreciated the support of JKSTIC, dignitaries and participants for making the event successful.
