ANANTNAG, MAY 07: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, today chaired a high-level meeting at Dak Bungalow Khanabal to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming VVIP Mega Padyatra scheduled to be held in the district on May 09 under the 100 Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign.
The meeting was attended by ADCs, CEO PDA, Superintending Engineers of PWD and Hydraulics, CPO, ACR, ACD, SDMs, DFOs, college principals, CMO, CAO, CAHO, district and sectoral officers and other officials.
During the meeting, the DC issued strict instructions to all heads of departments to execute their assigned tasks seamlessly with the highest degree of synergy and coordination to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the event.
He directed departments to undertake micro-level planning while keeping in consideration the entry routes, mobilisation strategy and exit points so that the event is organised in the best possible manner.
The DC said the Padyatra is an important component of the 100-day intensive campaign in which top dignitaries will visit the district, encouraging stakeholders and amplifying the message of the anti-drug campaign.
He emphasized the need for making the rally inclusive and vibrant through broad-based participation from all sections of society.
Dr. Bilal underscored the importance of involving social organisations, NGOs, professionals, youth, students and volunteers, progressive farmers, SHGs, civil society members, associations, public representatives, government institutions and other stakeholders to deliver a strong and unified message against substance abuse.
During the meeting, the transport plan was discussed in detail and departments were asked to designate nodal officers to coordinate proper entry and exit of participants.
Reviewing the arrangements, the DC directed departments to ensure that all requisite facilities and logistics are put in place well in advance for seamless conduct of the event.
He instructed Urban Local Bodies to install an adequate number of mobile toilets for the convenience of participants. Directions were also issued to concerned agencies to ensure provision of drinking water, medical care and other essential facilities at the venue as well as along the route.
The DC further directed proper preparation of the venue and route in conformity with SOPs and ordered establishment of a District Control Room in coordination with Police to address any emergent issues immediately.
The nodal officers appointed by the district administration were instructed to ensure that assigned tasks are completed smoothly and to visit the venue in advance for rehearsals and final review of arrangements.
The high-profile event marks a major milestone in the district’s ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan aimed at strengthening the fight against drug abuse.
