Senior Congress Leader Usman Bagwan Meets DIG Sargun Shukla, Discusses Key Issues of Chenab Valley

Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir | May 2, 2026: Senior Congress leader & social activist Usman Bagwan on Saturday held a significant meeting with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Sargun Shukla, to deliberate on key issues affecting the Chenab Valley region.

During the interaction, Bagwan warmly welcomed the DIG and appreciated her outreach to the region. The meeting focused on several pressing concerns, particularly the rising menace of drug abuse, the need for social reform, and measures to strengthen the overall security framework in the Chenab Valley.

Highlighting public grievances, Bagwan stressed the importance of stronger coordination between the administration and the people to ensure lasting peace and inclusive development. DIG Shukla reiterated that the Jammu & Kashmir Police remains committed to serving the public with dedication and integrity. She underscored the need for building trust-based relations between the police and citizens, stating that such cooperation is vital for effective governance and law enforcement.

Bagwan also extended an invitation to the DIG to visit Kishtwar. Responding positively, Shukla assured that she would plan a visit to the district in the near future.
