Doda Police Registers Another FIR in Bhaderwah for Illegal Poppy Cultivation; Crop Destroyed

Doda, April 22, 2026:
Continuing its sustained crackdown on narcotics and illegal cultivation, Doda Police registered another case of illicit poppy cultivation in the Bhaderwah area, following an earlier FIR lodged in a similar instance during the day.

According to officials, acting on reliable information, Police Station Bhaderwah registered FIR No. 58/2026 under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act 1985 against Shoket Ali Lone, son of Mir Ali, a resident of Chakerabati (A/P Kotli Bhaderwah). A police team led by the SHO conducted a raid at the site, where the illicit poppy cultivation was identified and subsequently uprooted and destroyed on the spot in accordance with legal procedures.

Officials said this action comes as a follow-up to an earlier case registered the same day, reflecting intensified efforts by police to detect and eliminate illegal cultivation in the region.

Further investigation in the case has been set into motion.

Reiterating its firm commitment to curb the menace of drugs, Doda Police urged the general public to share any information regarding illegal cultivation or narcotics-related activities, assuring strict legal action against offenders.
