Doda Police Seize 53 Bottles of Illicit Liquor, Two Restaurant Owners Arrested

Doda, April 20, 2026:
Continuing its crackdown on illegal liquor trade, Doda Police achieved a significant success by seizing a consignment of illicit liquor and arresting two accused in Thathri.

Acting on reliable information, a team from Police Station Thathri, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), conducted a swift operation and apprehended two individuals involved in the unlawful sale of liquor.

The accused have been identified as Ankush Kumar, son of Satish Kumar, resident of Saran Sindra, Tehsil Bhalla, and Ashwani Kumar, son of Kalyan Singh, resident of Kothi Bala, Tehsil Bhella. Both are reportedly running restaurants in Thathri and are alleged to have illegally procured and stored liquor for sale.

During the operation, police recovered a total of 53 bottles and cans of illicit liquor, including 21 cans of Kingfisher Beer (500 ml each), 22 bottles of JK Special Whiskey (180 ml each), and 10 bottles of JK Special Whiskey (250 ml each).

In this regard, FIR No. 30/2026 has been registered under Section 48(f) of the Excise Act at Police Station Thathri, and further investigation is in progress.

Doda Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, stating that strict action will continue against those involved in illegal activities.
