Dubai, Apr 06: US-Israeli airstrikes struck at least 12 cities across Iran, killing at least 13 people in Baharestan county of the capital, Tehran.
According to the semi-official Fars news agency, four girls and two boys under the age of 10 were among those killed in overnight strikes in Tehran province. The report referred to an earlier attack on a residential area in Baharestan county, where 13 fatalities were confirmed.
Airstrikes early Monday also targeted the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. Iranian media reported damage to buildings on the campus, as well as to a nearby natural gas distribution site.
It was not immediately clear what specific facilities were hit at the university, which currently has no students on campus as classes have shifted online due to the ongoing conflict.
Meanwhile, the state-run IRAN daily newspaper reported that an airstrike in a residential area of Qom killed at least five people. Qom, located just south of Tehran, is a major center for Shiite religious studies(Agencies).
