The delegation was informed that RDSO is one of only ten such institutions worldwide. Demonstrations included the indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system, Kavach, which prevents train collisions by automatically applying brakes if the locomotive pilot fails to do so.

Media members also interacted with Prabhas Dansana, DG RDSO; Qazi Mairaj Ahmad, ADG RDSO; and other senior officials. Addressing the delegation, Dansana highlighted RDSO’s technical collaborations with various organisations in India and abroad. He added that the organisation tests rolling stock not only for Indian Railways but also for countries such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Senegal, and Mozambique. It also tests locomotives for all metro rail projects in India before commissioning.

A comprehensive presentation on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line (USBRL) was included, followed by a question-and-answer session.

During the five-day tour, the delegation also interacted with administration officials, local artisans, progressive farmers, Self Help Groups, and beneficiaries of different welfare schemes, while visiting cultural and historical sites across the region. (Agency)
