Bandipora, Mar 7: Former Minister and senior PDP leader Naeem Akhtar on Saturday congratulated Irfan Ahmad Lone, a visually impaired youth from Manzpora in the Naidkhai area of Bandipora, for successfully clearing the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025.

In a statement, Akhtar said Irfan’s remarkable achievement has brought immense pride and recognition to the entire Bandipora district.

“I feel proud as I belong to Bandipora district, and it is always a moment of great happiness when someone from my district cracks such a prestigious national-level examination,” he said.

Akhtar, who has known Irfan personally, described his journey as one of extraordinary resilience. “I have known Irfan intimately. He comes from a disadvantaged socioeconomic background and has battled immense odds to achieve what he has today,” he added.

Highlighting Irfan’s earlier accomplishments, Akhtar noted that before clearing the UPSC exam, he had also qualified for a senior officer position in the Life Insurance Corporation of India, where he is currently serving.

He further mentioned that Irfan completed his graduation from the University of Delhi and later pursued his master’s degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, demonstrating consistent academic excellence despite his visual impairment.

Akhtar said Irfan’s success is a shining example of determination, perseverance, and courage, and will serve as a great inspiration for the youth of the region, particularly persons with disabilities aspiring to achieve big goals in life.

He also congratulated Irfan’s family and wished him a bright and successful career, expressing hope that his achievement will motivate many more young people from the district to work hard and bring laurels to the region. (Agency)
