Jammu February 26, 2026:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Kishtwar, Ravi Parihar, today met the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Naresh Singh and congratulated him for his decisive leadership and effective coordination that led to the successful culmination of Operation Trashi-1, a major joint anti-terror operation carried out in the Chatroo–Passerkut area of Kishtwar district.
Ravi Parihar lauded the success of Operation Trashi-1, describing it as a courageous and determined action that has delivered a strong blow to terror networks attempting to revive activities in the Chenab Valley region. He said the operation reflects the firm resolve of the security forces to neutralize terrorism, irrespective of hostile terrain and adverse conditions.
The operation was conducted by the Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army, in close coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, and the J&K Police’s Special Operations Group. In addition, elite units of the Indian Army, including 2 PARA (SF) and 9 PARA (SF), were also part of the operation, playing a crucial role in the intense close-quarter engagements.
The operation involved seamless coordination among multiple forces and was carried out in extremely difficult conditions marked by dense forests, steep mountainous terrain and harsh weather.
Operation Trashi-1 led to the neutralization of key terrorists, including Pakistan-based commander Saifullah Balochi, along with his associates. Saifullah Balochi was a hardened militant who had been actively involved in reviving terrorist networks and facilitating infiltration and logistics in the region. The elimination of such a high-value target has dealt a severe setback to terror outfits operating from across the border.
The killing of Saifullah Balochi and other terrorists during Operation Trashi-1 has significantly disrupted the command structure and operational capabilities of terrorist groups in the Kishtwar belt, sending a clear message that there is zero tolerance for terrorism and that no hideout is beyond the reach of security forces.
The success of Operation Trashi-1 is being viewed as a major step towards ensuring lasting peace, security and stability in Kishtwar district. The operation stands as a testament to the bravery, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of the armed forces and police personnel involved.
