UP Academic Selected as Principal of Auqaf-Run B.Ed College in Kishtwar

Jammu Jan 13, 2026: In a significant academic development, an academician from Uttar Pradesh has been selected for the post of Principal of Islamia Faridiya College of Education, Kishtwar, an Auqaf-run B.Ed college, following a transparent and merit-based selection process conducted by the University of Jammu.

The selection for the post of Principal was finalised at the College Development Council (CDC), University of Jammu. The meeting was convened under the aegis of the University of Jammu and was attended by key stakeholders, including Chairman Islamia Faridiya College of Education, Kishtwar, Mr. Firdoos Ahmed Bawani, along with senior university officials and academicians.

The duly constituted Selection Committee comprised Mr. Dharmender Mangotra, Director, CDC; Prof. J. P. Singh Joorel, Dean Academic Affairs; Prof. Naresh Padha, Senior-most Faculty Member; Prof. Meena Sharma, Nominee of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor; and Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Expert in Administration.

After a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation of candidates on the basis of academic excellence, leadership qualities, administrative experience and vision for institutional growth, Dr. Sangita Gupta, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, emerged as the most suitable candidate and was accordingly selected as Principal of the college.

The management and university representatives expressed satisfaction over the fair, transparent and professionally conducted selection process and extended their best wishes to Dr. Sangita Gupta for steering the institution towards higher academic standards and overall development. (Agencies)
