The Union Civil Aviation Ministry on Tuesday said it has received proposals from Star Air to operate flights from Udhampur Airport to Hindon, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad.

So far, no airline has submitted a proposal to operate flights from Kishtwar Airport. Both airports are currently listed as “unserved airstrips” under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), UDAN, the Ministry added.

“Bids have already been received from Star Air to operate flights from Udhampur to Hindon in Uttar Pradesh, Jaipur in Rajasthan, and Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Preliminary feasibility assessments indicate that developing a civil enclave at Udhampur is possible, but it will require regulatory clearances and availability of suitable land,” Union Minister of State (MoS) for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said in response to the maiden unstarred question from BJP MP from Jammu, Sat Sharma, on Tuesday.

Sharma had sought details regarding the proposed inclusion of Udhampur and Kishtwar airports under the UDAN 5.0 scheme, feasibility and timeline for land assessment for the twin airports, findings of the Ministry on the matter, and details on the sanctioning of new regional routes from Jammu Airport during 2025.
