Actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after receiving treatment for several days. The actor was admitted on January 16 following a harrowing incident where he was stabbed during a burglary attempt at his residence in the early hours of the morning.
Earlier today, Dr. Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital informed the media that Saif is expected to be discharged by 10 am-12 pm. The actor’s family members, including his mother Sharmila Tagore and actor-wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others, were present at the hospital. A visual of the actor leaving the hospital premises in a black Porsche was shared.
Last week, Saif Ali Khan was brutally attacked at his Bandra residence, Satguru Sharan, where an intruder stabbed him approximately six times. He was rushed to the hospital at 2:30 am and underwent two surgeries to address his injuries. Lilavati Hospital later revealed a picture of the 3-inch-long fragment of a sharp object used in the assault.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police arrested the assailant, 30-year-old Bangladeshi resident Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, in Thane city on Sunday. Shehzad was presented before a metropolitan magistrate’s court the same afternoon and remanded to five days in police custody.
Earlier, in her statement to the Mumbai Police, Saif’s wife and actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, confirmed that the intruder had grown aggressive during the scuffle but did not touch any jewellery which was left in plain sight. She added that Saif intervened to save the women (house help), who were held hostage, and prevented the attacker from reaching her youngest son, Jeh.
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in the Telugu film Devara, alongside Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor.
