Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the new Vande Bharat Express from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station in Jammu Division (Northern Railway) to Amritsar Railway Station in Ferozepur Division on August 10, 2025, via video conferencing.

The train will operate six days a week, except Tuesday, with stops at Vyas, Jalandhar City, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu along the route.

Jammu Division Organizes Creative Competitions to Commemorate Vande Bharat Train Inauguration

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal, said, “The launch of the new Vande Bharat train is aimed at providing a comfortable and faster travel experience for passengers traveling to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.”

To mark the upcoming inauguration of the Vande Bharat train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Amritsar, a series of creative competitions were organized for school students across the Jammu Division of Northern Railway on Friday.

Students who secured first, second, and third positions in these competitions, held in various schools of the Jammu railway division, will be felicitated during the inaugural ceremony on August 10, 2025.

The competitions included painting, essay writing, and poetry recitation, with over 450 students enthusiastically participating. The themes reflected patriotism, social consciousness, and creativity, focusing on inspiring subjects such as ‘Swadeshi Ka Sankalp Station.’

Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu Division, Vivek Kumar, commented on the success of the program: “The students considered it a momentous occasion and participated with great pride and enthusiasm. The rapid introduction of Vande Bharat trains nationwide symbolizes a new momentum of progress for India and marks a historic step toward national development. We wanted to celebrate it ahead of the inaugural ceremony.”

Participating schools included Shaheed Makhan Singh Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Pathankot; BBN School, Vijaypur, Samba; New Shishu Vidya Mandir, Katra; Amba Kids School, Panthal, Katra; and Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Jammu.

Uchit Singhal added, “The aim of the program was not just competition but to provide a platform for children to express their thoughts, feelings, and dreams through words and colors.”

Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Jammu, Seema Verma, said, “This event became not only a medium to showcase the talent of the children but also an inspiring example of creative collaboration between the Railways and society.” (Agencies)
