Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat (IPS) chaired a high-level security review meeting today at the PCR Kashmir conference hall, focusing on preparations for Independence Day 2025 and other upcoming events.
The meeting was attended by senior officers, including Special DG Coordination J&K S.J.M. Gillani, ADG CRPF Rajesh Kumar, ADGP Armed J&K Anand Jain, ADGP CID J&K Nitish Kumar, along with IGsP, DIGs, SSPs from all districts, and senior officials from CRPF, BSF, SSB, CISF, ITBP, and intelligence agencies.
To begin with, Zonal Inspectors General and heads of various wings briefed the DGP on the prevailing security scenario across the Union Territory.
Intelligence officers also shared their assessments and inputs on emerging security challenges.
During the meeting, the DGP stressed the importance of robust security planning, effective counter-insurgency measures, and heightened vigilance to ensure the peaceful and smooth conduct of national and local events. He called for intensified surveillance of anti-national elements, increased area domination, and strengthened security at vulnerable locations.
Nalin Prabhat also instructed all district heads to keep a close watch on social media platforms to curb the spread of misinformation that could disrupt public order. (Agencies)
