In a notable political development, Sarwar Mufti — cousin of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti — joined the Apni Party in Srinagar on Saturday, marking a setback for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
As per details accessed by the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sarwar formally joined the Apni Party during a function held in Srinagar, which was presided over by party chief Altaf Bukhari.
Sarwar, who had been associated with the PDP for a long time, joined the Democratic Progressive Azad Party in November 2023. However, he later returned to the PDP before finally switching to the Apni Party today. (Sources
