A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan on Saturday afternoon, sending tremors across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir and triggering panic among residents.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the quake occurred at 12:17 PM IST with its epicenter located at latitude 36.10°N and longitude 71.20°E at a depth of 130 kilometers.
Tremors were felt in several areas of the Kashmir Valley, including Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, and Kupwara. However, there have been no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to property.
